Who we are
Every farmer knows the frustration of heavy, galvanized pipes that rust or decay time and time again, and the arduous task that then lies ahead to pull the pipes out of the borehole and replace them.
Fortunately, farmers are also known for coming up with ingenious plans. It was this never-ending cycle or pipe replacement that compelled Hennie Myburgh and Pieter Theron of Prince Albert in the Great Karoo to put their ingenuity to the test to find an alternative to an approach that clearly was not working properly.
The result of their experimentation and innovative spirit is the M&T system – a corrosion-resistant system of plastic and nylon that has virtually no parts that can rust, and also costs a borehole owner only half the price that conventional galvanized equipment would fetch.
During their first demonstration at a farmers’ association meeting in Prince Albert, the reaction to the invention was overwhelming and Pieter and Hennie decided to patent the system.
Today, the M&T system is known in the industry as the most efficient, cost-effective, corrosion-resistant borehole equipment for livestock watering throughout South Africa. It’s designed for farmers, by farmers, and it works. There are currently between 20,000 and 25,000 systems in operation in South Africa and Namibia, and more are being installed every day.
The products in this range include a 45m system, 60m system and purpose-designed force head.
